Marshals Arrest Man for Dragging Police Officers with Car

Federal agents arrested a man Thursday wanted for allegedly dragging two Bridgeport, Connecticut police officers with his car after fleeing a traffic stop in February.

Naquan Clarke, 22, was found inside a Queens, N.Y., home Thursday morning by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the Hartford Courant.

Clarke will be held pending extradition from New York to Connecticut, according to the task force.

According to Bridgeport police, Clarke was pulled over by police in that city early on Feb. 14 because officers said the car had stolen plates. During the traffic stop, Clarke was asked to get out of the car but drove away, dragging the officers about 30 feet. The two suffered bruises and cuts, police said.

“Anytime a law enforcement officer is hurt during the line of duty, our Task Force will pull out all the stops to assist in any way possible to locate and arrest that individual,” said Brian Taylor, U.S. Marshal for Connecticut.
